Vertebrogenic Pain
Vertebrogenic pain is discomfort stemming from the spine’s structures, such as the vertebral bodies, discs, or facet joints. It’s often caused by spinal degeneration, herniated discs, or spinal stenosis, and presents as lower back pain, sciatica, stiffness, and limited mobility. Diagnosis involves a physical exam and imaging, with treatments ranging from conservative options like physical therapy and NSAIDs to interventional procedures such as basivertebral nerve ablation or, in severe cases, surgery. The primary goal is to manage pain and improve a patient’s quality of life.
